Christian Automated Email Marketing: It’s Not a Sin…
Still trying to Survive off of foot-traffic? Tired of watching the guy down the street make all the sells? Tired of losing all your business to Amazon? Then automated email marketing is your answer…
Have you noticed the isles in your store just aren’t quite as full as they used to be? Go ahead. Take a peek over your register; just past the counter. What you’ll find are a bunch of empty footprints where customers once stood, waiting through all the cha-chings, until it was finally their turn.
Don’t worry! You haven’t done anything wrong, and your customers don’t hate you. They’ve simply found another way to make their purchases. They tend to do it now while watching television, laying in bed, or even at their son’s Friday night football game. Why? I’m glad you asked.
Why Automated Email Marketing
“But, Joshua, I really don’t want to annoy my clients…” I completely understand your concern and care for your clients, but as I reported in a previous article, at least 69% of all online adults make online purchases at least once per month. And 33% make online purchases at least once per week.
Approximately 70% of your clients are already shopping online. Why? Because it’s convenient! Shopping online saves people time, and more often than not, money.
In a world that continues to take up more and more of our time, we all do what we can to spend it more wisely. Therefore, instead of going to the Christian Book Store after work, we shop on our lunch-break. But, WE’RE NOT DOING IT AT YOUR BOOKSTORE.
While at lunch, YOUR CLIENT picks up her iPhone, scrolls through Facebook, and then checks her inbox. And out of the average 147 emails that we each receive per day, she then opens the one that has a special offer on Christian Books and Christian Accessories.
“Oh! I’ve been dying to get that book!” She ponders for a moment, “And look at that, if my purchase is over $50 I’ll get free shipping as well, which will save me the time of having to stop by my local Christian Book Store after work.”
The Christian Business Leader tends to have this idea that a friendly and convenient email is more of an inconvenience to their client. That is the biggest MYTH that haunts your business today. And, it couldn’t be further from the truth…
Email marketing, when done correctly, provides an incredible friendly and convenient service to each and every client. You might even be surprised at how your customers will actually thank you for sending that timely offer.
Email Marketing Statistics
There are a few variables to consider when activating email marketing into your business. And it can be confusing when you’ve heard several of the different types of words and phrases pertaining to email marketing, such as, but not limited to:
- Opt-in email marketing
- Email Automation
- Drip email marketing
And you may have even heard other terms pertaining to email marketing, like Target Audience, Segmented Email Marketing, Lead Magnet, Landing Page and Sales Funnel. Though we can look into those complimentary email marketing variables in the near future, for now lets take a look at a few Email Marketing Statistics…
In a January, 2016 article written by Campaign Monitor’s, Kim Stiglitz, 70 email marketing stats every marketer should know, Stiglitz reported that email marketing has a 3800% Return On Investment (ROI). Which means that for every $1 spent in email marketing, $38 is made. Not Bad.
A few other quick statistics that Stiglitz reported:
- Marketers have noted a 760% increase in revenue from segmented campaigns.
- Email is 40 times more effective at acquiring new customers than Facebook or Twitter.
- A message is 5X more likely to be seen in email than via Facebook.
- Segmented and targeted email generate 58% of all revenue.
58% of all revenue? Really? How would you like to take your current revenue and increase it 108%?
How Much Does Email Marketing Cost?
Sometimes email automation is free. Sometimes it can cost you from $10 per month, to a few hundred dollars per month, to much, much more. It all depends on the end goal in mind. Nevertheless, you get to choose.
However, there is one point I’d definitely like to make.
With the proper online sales funnel activated into ecommerce, it has been noted that email automation has doubled, and oftentimes more than doubled revenue.
Therefore, probably the best advice I can give when it comes to estimating The Cost of automated email marketing:
“I would say a modest estimation would be to take the annual revenue your business currently brings in, and add 50% to that. However much the additional 50% revenue is, then I would say that’s a modest look as to what it’s costing you every year you’re not using email automated marketing…”
Have a Blessed day everyone…
