When someone types in a specific search in the Google search bar, what Google wants to do for that customer is: 

1. Give that customer the best information available that pertains to the keyword or keyword phrase search. 
2. Give that customer the best written information available that pertains to the keyword or keyword phrase search. 

… and that basically sums it up.  Google provides the best information, and best written information to their clients for one simple reason – because they want to provide excellent customer service. 

Nevertheless, there’s something even more important you should know when it comes to GREAT SEO on your business website.

Going back to Google’s Golden Rule of excellent customer service, an important and highly successful SEO strategy involves understanding the concept of keywords and keyword phrases.  Moreover, it involves understanding the way your customers think. 

Let’s say you’re the owner of a new car dealership, and the brand is Chevrolet.  One of your most sold models is the New 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab. 

In order to truly understand your car buying customers, you would simply have to perform the keyword phrase research.  Amazingly enough, you’d find keyword phrases like: 

• New Silverado
• New Chevrolet Silverado
• 2019 Chevy Silverado
• 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500
• 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab
• Chevrolet Silverado 2019

… and on and on I could go.  But here’s the question you must ask yourself about the above mentioned keyword phrases:  “What is my customer really looking for when Google Searching these phrases?”

For example, when the customer searches “New Silverado,” is he/she looking for a New Silverado Regular Cab, Double Cab or Crew Cab?  Is he/she looking for a 1500, 2500 or 3500?  Kind of confusing, huh?  Well, this is exactly the question Google has to struggle with as well. 

But… what if you became proactive and created a page on your website that was titled “The New 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Lineup,” and on that page you had inventory showing the New 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 & 3500 models, in Regular Cab, Double Cab and Crew Cab?

Because neither we nor Google know exactly what kind of New Silverado that customer is looking for (because they haven’t been specific in their search), you would have just created a good page to satisfy and to give Google to offer up to that customer who simply searched “New Silverado.” 

… and that, my dear reader, is an example of taking your website SEO from Good to Great!
